Loren Hadassah
In 2000 Loren began to deepen her study and practice of yoga. After exploring an abundance of workshops and trainings in a variety of styles she found her way to Anusara yoga. Loren is now a certified yoga teacher, has a daily practice and continues her training. Anusara yoga is rooted in a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology that leads to distinct alignment principles. The strength of this foundation allows for an opening of the heart and freedom of being that ripples out into all aspects of life. In 2003 Loren traveled to Thailand to study Thai-yoga massage, a modality that opens the joints, allowing more vibrant circulation through the body and a deep release of tension in the muscles. She continued her learning at the World School of Massage in San Francisco and is now a Certified Massage Therapist. Loren has studied several modalities including Vibrational, Deep Tissue, Swedish and Myofascial Release. She spent three years being attuned to the Reiki Master level. Her work allows for a soft surrendering of the body through fluid movements that instigates a muscular and emotional release of held tension. She has been practicing as a massage therapist since 2005. In 2010 Loren graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies, CIIS, with a Masters Degree in Somatic Psychology. She is currently a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. In 2007 she traveled to the Democrat Republic of Congo to work in a hospital program for women suffering from the impacts of sexual violence. Loren was able to develop body-centered techniques for healing trauma with a team of counselors and to facilitate a training in somatic therapies. From 2008 to the present she has worked as a therapist at SAGE Project in San Francisco, primarily with clients healing from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and drug and alcohol abuse. Using body practices, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and relational therapy with both groups and individuals, she has found routes to releasing trauma from the physical body and diminishing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Loren continues to work as a teaching assistant and is developing new learning strategies within the Somatic Psychology program at CIIS. Along with Body-Centered Psychotherapy, Loren offers private yoga and massage sessions.
